Celestine Raven talks with Wasim Arslan, the most famous Syrian singer of the Netherlands. He came to Amsterdam in 2016, as a refugee, running away from the war in his homeland. He found some healing and peace in Ruigoord, where this interview is recorded. He talks about his first difficult years in the Netherlands, about his inspirations and their positive influence. He talks about seeing his family again this year, in Syrië after the fall of Assad. On the 10th of may, Wasim's new album was released, called "Ma Bain", which means "In Between" and he sings about the complicated duality between oppression and freedom.

Today, I have with me a very talented and handsome ballet dancer from the Dutch National Ballet, Constantine Allen. He moved here in 2018 and has now been living in the Netherlands for six years. Originally from the U.S., he has performed in numerous productions, including Swan Lake last year. Currently, he is rehearsing for Dancing Dutch. I'm eager to learn more about his life as an expat, his experience as a ballet dancer, his passions, challenges, and inspirations.
